Access denied and page not found errors
What the 403 and 404 error screens mean, and how to use the Reload app button.
403: Access denied
You see this screen when you try to navigate to a page or open a report that your account is not permitted to view. Common causes:
- Typing or following a report URL that belongs to another staff member (and you are not their manager, not @mentioned, and CEO access is not enabled).
- Navigating directly to an admin or role-gated page (e.g. /admin/users) without the required role designation.
The screen shows three actions: Go back returns to the previous page, Dashboard takes you to your main dashboard, and Reload app performs a full hard reload of the platform.
404: Page not found
You see this screen when the URL you visited does not correspond to any page in the platform. This is typically a mistyped URL or a dead link.
Reload app button
Both error screens include a Reload app button. It performs the same cache-busting hard reload as the update prompt, ensuring you are running the latest version of the platform. Use it if you suspect the error may be caused by a stale client-side state.
If you consistently see 403 on a report you believe you should be able to view, ask your manager to @mention you in that report or contact your Admin.
