Understanding offices and org structure
How offices are structured, what they control, and how staff are assigned.
3 min read
The organisation is divided into offices (departments, divisions, or locations). Each office is the unit that determines a staff member's deadline and notification flow.
What an office controls
- Deadline day and time: when weekly reports must be submitted.
- Deadline timezone: all deadlines are evaluated in the office's local timezone.
- Opening hours and workdays: used by the Priority Digest feature to determine when morning emails are sent.
- Priority Digest: when enabled, managers receive a morning email on workdays showing their team's committed priorities.
- Head of Office: the designated leader who receives all office submission notifications.
Org hierarchy
Who reports to whom (manager relationships) is configured separately from office membership. A staff member's deadline comes from their office; their notification chain comes from their manager assignment.
Staff are assigned to exactly one office. Their deadline is determined by that office, not their role or manager.
